Acupuncture Session Costs
Initial Visits $100 (60 minutes in office)
Follow-up Visits $75 (30-45 minutes in office). Any herbal medicines are an additional cost.
We accept cash, checks, Visa or Mastercard and payment is due at the appointment.
If you have insurance that covers acupuncture, you pay for your service at the time of the appointment but will be given a receipt with all necessary information for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement to come directly to you. People are often able to use their health spending accounts for their session as well.
Please call if you have any questions.
What is the difference between a licensed acupuncturist and a certified acupuncturist?
Licensed acupuncturists attend a 3-4 year Masters program specifically for acupuncture, or Chinese Medicine, and must pass national boards following school. The schooling includes Western and Eastern medical classes and extensive clinical hours.
In Illinois, medical doctors and chiropractors usually have very minimal training to perform acupuncture. These providers are certified acupuncturists. Generally their training is self study or a brief course. (Occasionally these practitioners do choose to complete thorough training so this is a good question to ask of your provider.) Chinese Medicine is a completely separate medicine from Western medicine as it sees the workings of the body very differently. When providers have not completed the Masters program, their understanding of the medicine is very limited. They may be able to help with a simple physical symptom, but they are not trained to use it as an internal medicine that addresses any deeper imbalances.
